Christian formation
Christian formation is essential for every Christian. Just as we cannot imagine
that engineers, doctors, etc. would fail to keep up with the developments in
their profession, so it is important for Christians to pursue ongoing faith
formation.
There are many tools available for this purpose: numerous books and periodicals,
as well as courses and formation workshops are organized in every diocese,
covering different aspects of the Christian message.
The missionary dimension of the Church
The FIAT Association does not see its mission as organizing direct
evangelization, but rather as being at the service of the Church’s evangelizing
activity at all levels: local, parish, diocesan or international.
Every Christian is called to be open to the missionary dimension of the Church
in its broadest sense. Some will be called to take on a social or charitable
service, others to provide individual accompaniment or a biblical, liturgical or
catechetical form of service, while still others may participate in direct
evangelization. Some may simply take more and more to heart the call to sanctify
their family life and to accomplish the duties of their state of life.
Above all it is a matter of waiting, with the Virgin Mary, for the breath of the
vivifying Holy Spirit, and of remaining open to bearing authentic witness to
Christ in joy and confidence, wherever He wishes us to be.
